VISIT FROM AIEA IN CONJUNCTION WITH " IAEA EXPERT MISSION ON CURRENT DEVELOPMENT AND FUTURE APPLICATION OF PET AND SPECT RADIOPHARMACEUTICALS"
On 27 September 2016, the visit of AIEA in conjunction with the arrival of two (2) experts AIEA for "IAEA Expert Mission on Current Development and Future Application of PET and SPECT Radiopharmaceuticals" visited PPDN.
The purpose of the visit was to visit the facility / facilities teredaat in PPDN. Trip for two (2) hours was attended by 10 people including representatives of the AIEA and the Malaysian Nuclear Agency.
ULTRASOUND GE TRANING COURSE
On 6-8 September 2016, a seminar was held at GE Ultrasound Nuclear Imaging Center, (PPDN).
The aim of the course is to expose the overlapping ultrasound inspection methods, MRI, ultrasound, CT scans of the participants.
Training for three (3) days and was attended by staff PPDN, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (UPM) and the Serdang Hospital.

KURSUS MYRIAN WORKSTATION TRAINING
On 6 September 2016, the Myrian Workstation Training Course was held in PPDN. This course is designed to expose participants to apply and applies a software application that has been uploaded.
The course was delivered by Mr. Nicolas Pieropan, Area Manager ASEAN (Intrasense Kuala Lumpur).
The course was attended by a radiologist PPDN and Imaging Department, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, UPM.
VISIT FROM INTERNATIONAL MEDICAL UNIVERSITY (IMU)
On 5 September 2016, PPDN received a visit from the International Medical University (IMU) consisting of 32 students and 2 lecturers.
The visit aims to sensitize students about PET CT and MRI facilities available in PPDN.
CME BASIC NUCLEAR MEDICINE & UPDATES ON LATEST IMAGING TECHNIQUES AND ROLE OF 68GALIUM-DOTANOC IN MANAGEMENT OF NEUROENDOCRINE TUMOURS
On 24 August 2016, the program CME Basic Nuclear Medicine & Updates on Latest Imaging Techniques and Role of 68galium-Dotanoc in Management of neuroendocrine humours organized by Pengiomejan Diagnostic Nuclear (PPDN) in collaboration with the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, UPM was held at Meeting Room major, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, UPM.
The program was attended by staff from PPDN, UPM Faculty of Medicine and also the staff of the National Cancer Institute.
The lecture was delivered by Prof. Vijanmuri Sobhan, President of the British Nuclear Medicine Society and Consultant Physician Medicine at the Royal Liverpool University Hospital, Liverpool, UK.
VISITS BY HOSPITAL SERDANG’S STAFF IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE COURSE OPTIMIZATION IN MEDICAL IMAGING IONIZING RADIATION
On August 26, 2016, a visit by Hospital Serdang’s Staff to PPDN in conjuction with Ionizing Radiation Optimization Course In Medical Imaging.
A total of 30 participants were taken on a tour to see all the facilities and amenities found in PPDN.
VISIT FROM DELEGATION OF THE MINISTRY OF HEALTH AND FAMILY WELFARE, BANGLADESH
On June 8, 2016, a program of information sharing health program organized by UCTC involving delegates from the ministries of Health and Family Welfare, Bangladesh, namely Health System Strengthening and Sustainable Financing Program.
The purpose of the visit was to share information about relevant diagnostic and tour around PPDN. Trip for 2 hours and was attended by 10 participants from Bangladesh.
SCIENTIFIC VISIT EXPERT FROM PALESTIN TO MALAYSIA SPONSORED BY IAEA
On 26 Mayth, 2016, an expert from Palestine, Mr Ismail Ibrahim Hroub, Director of Radiation protection and Detection Unit, Ministry of Health Palestine was in Malaysia for the scientific visits program and also visited Pusat Pengimejan Diagnostik Nuklear (PPDN), Universiti Putra Malaysia.
He was shown around and briefed about PPDN’s related activities and services provided by PPDN.
EXHIBITION ON " HARI KHIDMAT PELANGGAN UPM"
On May 25th, 2016, PPDN participated in the exhibition in conjunction with the customer service day at UPM Administration Building, Office of the Registrar, UPM.
The exhibition aimed to introduce the services available in PPDN makes it as a referral center in UPM.
VISITOR MR. DAZHU YANG, DEPUTY DIRECTOR GENERAL (TECHNICAL COOPERATION) FROM INTERNATIONAL ATOMIC ENERGY AGENCY (IAEA)
On May 25th, 2016, PPDN received a visit from Mr. Dazhu Yang, Deputy Director General (Technical Cooperation) International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
He was shown around and briefed about PPDN’s related activities and services provided by PPDN. In addition, he also visited modality included in PPDN.
VISITOR FROM MANAGEMENT & SCIENCES UNIVERSITY (MSU)
On May 20th, 2016, a total of 40 students and 2 lecturers of Bachelor of Biomedical Science, Department of Diagnostic and Health Sciences, Faculty of Health Sciences, Management & Sciences University (MSU) visited PPDN.
The purpose of this visit was to give an overview of the field of diagnostic imaging and treatment of present cancer.
VISITOR FROM NATIONAL SPORT INSTITUTE
On May 16th, 2016, PPDN received a visit from the National Sports Institute. The visitors were taken to see the facilities and modality available in PPDN more closely.
In addition, apart from introducing PPDN to be served as a referral center for them, they were exposed to the services available at PPDN.
On May 5th, 2016, “mMRI Prostate Biopsy” workshop which was organized by PPDN was held in the auditorium of the Library of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, UPM. The program involved two (2) sessions, lectures and practical sessions.
A total of 20 imaging and medical specialists, clinical staffs from PPDN, UPM, Serdang Hospital and UITM attended this program.
There were three (3) industries involved in delivering the lectures and practical sessions which were from Philips Healthcare Sdn Bhd, Siemens Malaysia Sdn Bhd and GE Healthcare Sdn Bhd
On May 4, 2016 , a CME titled " PET CT in neuroendocrine Tumour " was held at the Auditorium of the Library of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences , UPM at 3.00 pm until 5.00 pm .PPDN organizing program was attended by 50 medical specialists and clinical staff consisting of PPDN , UPM , Serdang Hospital , Putrajaya Hospital , National Cancer Institute and Hospital Kuala Lumpur .
The talks for this program was presented by Prof. Dr. Claudio Rosset , specialists in Nuclear Medicine , Niguarda Hospital , Italy
VISITOR OF ASIA AND PACIFIC DIRECTOR, DEPARTMENT OF TECHNICAL ,IAEA
On 28 April 2016 , Ms. Najat Mokhtar , Director of Asia & the Pacific , Department of Technical Cooperation of IAEA , made ​​a working visit to PPDN . The visit is under the purview of the Malaysian Nuclear Agency as the National Coordinating Agency Technical Cooperation Programme ( TCP ) International Atomic Energy Agency ( IAEA ) in Malaysia
INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE OF TRANSLATIONAL MOLECULAR IMAGING AND AEROSPACE MEDICINE & PHYSIOLOGY SHOWCASE 2016 (ICT MIPS 16)
April 15-16, 2016, PPDN in collaboration with the Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB) and ANGKASA has organized international conference entitled "International Conference of Translational Molecular Imaging and Aerospace Medicine & Physiology Showcase 2016 (ICT MIPS 16)" at Hotel Sama- Sama, KLIA
The aim of organizing international Conferences are:
1. To strengthen the translational molecular imaging (biotechnology, molecular genetics, medical imaging and aerospace)
2. Increase the involvement of the private sector, individuals, Government Linked Company (GLC) and Multi National Companies (MNCs) across Europe through sponsorships including participation, and exhibitions.
3. Making ICT MIPS program as one of the regular program
4. Makes UPM as one of the international universities that become a leader in the field of molecular imaging.
5. Attract involvement of school or institution to foster the development of space science technology through the presentation and performances by JAXA.
A total of 116 participants from nuclear medicine physicians, radiologists, medical experts spacecraft, researchers, nutritionists, genetic biotechnology engineers and physicists from home and abroad were present to participate in this two-day conference. A total of 21 speakers consisting of eight (8) people overseas speakers and 13 speakers in the country have been called upon to give lectures in the field of their expertise.
This international conference was sponsored by SIEMENS Healthcare Sdn Bhd as the main sponsor and also received sponsorship from private agencies other agencies
PRE CONGRESS ICT MIPS 2016
On 14 April 2016 , Pre Congress in conjunction with the Conference " International Conference of Translational Molecular Imaging and Aerospace Medicine & Physiology Showcase 2016 ( ICT MIPS 16 ) " was held in PPDN . A total of 20 physicians from hospitals and universities in the country and abroad participated in the pre congress .
Pre Congress was presented by Dr. Ramdave Shakher , specialists in Nuclear Medicine at Monash University, Australia .
“ CLINICAL OBSERVATION FOR PROSTATE INTERVENTIONAL" COURSE AT SINRIRAJ HOSPITAL, BANGKOK
On 29 to 30 March 2016, the Philips Healthcare Sdn Bhd has sponsored Prof. Prof. Dr. Fathinul Fikri Ahmad Saad and Mr . Mohd Amirul Tajuddin to attend the course " Clinical Observation for Interventional Prostate " in Sinriraj Hospital , Bangkok .
They were trained to use the software procedures " MRI Prostate Biopsy " .Total sponsorship received from Philips Healthcare for in - kind is of RM9000.00
On March 24, 2016, a workshop on " Utility of FSL for Interpretation of fMRI Data " organized by the Faculty of Modern Languages ​​, UPM was held in PPDN . A total of 20 participants consisting of physicians, radiographers and nurses from PPDN and the Medical Faculty of Health Sciences, UPM attended the workshop.
The one-day workshop aims to train clinical staff and physicians about the use of application software available in PPDN . The program was conducted by the Faculty of Modern Languages ​​and invited speakers are Prof. Dr Christos Pliatsikas , fMRI experts from the Linguistic Department , University of Reading , United Kingdom .
SERVICES PROMOTION PROGRAMME (PPDN) IN CONJUNCTION WITH PUTRA MAKNA RUN UPM 2016
Pada 12 Mac 2016, PPDN telah terlibat dalam program promosi perkhidmatan PPDN sempena Putra Makna Run UPM 2016 ajuran Fakulti Perubatan dengan kerjasama MAKNA Malaysia.
Antara objektif penglibatan PPDN adalah untuk memberi pendedahan kepada pengunjung tentang kemudahan fasiliti yang terdapat di PPDN di samping menjadikan PPDN sebagai salah satu pusat rujukan pemeriksaan untuk warga UPM amnya.
Pada 9-10 Mac 2016, seramai 15 orang Pakar Perubatan Pengimejan staf klinikal daripada Pusat Pengimejan Dignostik Nuklear dan Fakulti Perubatan & Sains Kesihatan telah menjalani latihan berkaitan Prisma FMRI bertempat di MRI Suite, PPDN.
Latihan ini telah dikendalikan oleh Mr Quah Hong Ee, Product Specialist dari SIEMENS Healthcare Sdn Bhd. Tujuan latihan ini adalah untuk melatih radiologi dan staf sokongan yang terlibat dalam menggunakan aplikasi software MRI yang terdapat di PPDN
Seramai tujuh (7) orang staf PPDN telah terlibat dalam menjayakan program ini. Tujuan program ini diadakan adalah untuk :
1) Memberi pendedahan kepada pengunjung tentang jenis- jenis perkhidmatan yang ditawarkan di PPDN.
2) Sebagai salah satu cara untuk mempromosikan perkhidmatan yang ditawarkan di PPDN.
SCIENTIFIC VISIT TO ALL INDIA INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCE (INDIA)
Pada 1 Februari – 12 Februari 2016, En. Muhammad Hishar bin Hassan (Pegawai Penyelidik) telah ditawarkan dan ditaja oleh International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) untuk lawatan saintifik ke All India Institute of Medical Science (India). Fokus latihan adalah berkaitan SPECT dan PET radiophamaceuticals.
Serdang , 8-9 January 2016 , Diagnostic Nuclear Imaging Center ( DNIC) , UPM has organized courses of PET CT located at Seminar Room PPDN . A total of 10 trainee doctors nationwide have participated in these PET CT.
The course was organized with the sponsorship of SIEMENS Healthcare Sdn Bhd and Abex Medical Sdn Bhd as the official sponsor.
The intensive PET / CT Course include a 10-hour lecture and practical training or tutorial for 5 hoursThis intensive course is based on the ' formative assessment ' through practical sessions are held.
Among the objectives of the course are:
1. To train prospective Master of Radiology, radiologist in the field of PET / CT, which include cancer, cardiovascular and infectious diseases.
2. To train prospective employees from a support group such as X-ray technology experts, officials of Physics (Medical) in the area of ​​Integrated Diagnostic Imaging.
