Jogjakarta - Two Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) radiologists, Dr Mohd Hazeman Zakaria and Dr Idris Ibrahim have attended the International Conference; Detection and Treatment Expertise Training in Theranostics and Neurology. Held at Mariot Hotel Jogjakarta, the five-day conference, starting October 3-7, is open to radiologists and nuclear medicine experts. While another UPM nuclear medicine expert, Associate Prof Dr. Subapriya Suppiah attended this conference online.
This conference is organized by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in collaboration with UPM's Centre for Diagnostic Nuclear Imaging (PPDN) and organized together with the Indonesian Nuclear Medicine Association. Professor Dr Fathinul Fikri Ahmad Saad, director of PPDN UPM who is also the head of the national coordinator project has been selected by the IAEA to lead this specialist training course through the use of Grant RTC 6093 Euro 77 000 taking into account the expertise capabilities at PPDN in the field of neurology and Molecular Imaging to contribute ideas and knowledge transfer to the international community in the professional field of molecular imaging expertise.
It is hoped that with PPDN UPM's participation in this conference, and UPM's contribution at the international level through the membership of PPDN experts in the IAEA, will be able to boost the marketing of UPM's expertise in the field of molecular imaging and further boost UPM as an internationally reputable university
