AUSTRIA - The European Association of Nuclear Medicine Congress is an annual congress organised by the European Association of Nuclear Medicine, bringing together experts in the field of nuclear medicine, molecular imaging, radio-pharmaceutical sciences and medical physics. Participation in this congress is not limited to clinical and academic professionals, but also includes scientists and technologists who have contributed to their respective fields.

This year's congress was held from 9 to 13 September 2023 in Vienna, Austria, a venue well known to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). Building on the participation of PPDN researchers in previous congresses in 2015 and 2016, PPDN researchers were again selected to participate in the congress session and present research titled "[¹⁸F]AlF-complexation of pamidronic acid, a NOTA -conjugated bisphosphonate, as a potential tracer for PET bone imaging" This research was led by PPDN Research Officer Dr. Muhammad Hishar Hassan and included Dr. Muhamad Faiz Othman (UiTM), Prof. Ts. Dr. Zainul Amiruddin Zakaria (Universiti Malaysia Sabah), and Prof. Dr. Fathinul Fikri Ahmad Saad (PPDN - UPM). This research was also supported by Dr Hairil Rashmizal Abdul Razak from the University of Exeter, United Kingdom, who was a speaker during the presentation session.

Overall, this participation has resulted in the successful publication of the PPDN researchers' research findings in the European Journal of Nuclear Medicine & Molecular Imaging (EJNMMI), a journal that ranks in the top 10% of journals in the field of nuclear medicine and molecular imaging.
